Striking antique/vintage Middle Eastern copper and brass kettle or teapot featuring a wonderfully aged dark patina and elaborate traditional metalwork. The rounded copper-toned body is decorated with applied brass/copper calligraphic-style motifs around the shoulder, twisted wire trim, geometric decoration around the lower body, a fitted lid with sculptural finial, substantial swing handle, and elegant elongated curved spout.
Likely Middle Eastern origin, although no maker or country mark has been identified. Pieces of this type were traditionally made as functional tea, coffee or water vessels and are now especially attractive as decorative objects for an eclectic, global, bohemian or Old World interior.
Measures approximately 8” high to the top of the handle and about 8” overall from body to end of spout based on the photographs. Body is approximately 4½–5” across. Weight is 1.455 lb, approximately 1 lb 7 oz.
Condition: Good antique/vintage condition with substantial age-related patina, oxidation, surface discoloration, rubbing and wear throughout. The lid finial shows dark oxidation and the metal surfaces retain an intentionally unpolished aged appearance. Please review photographs closely
