Striking hand-carved wooden folk-art sculpture depicting Los Tres Reyes Magos—the Three Kings—riding on horseback and carrying open books. Each figure is individually carved with expressive facial features, distinctive headwear, and rustic geometric details. Mounted together on a shaped wooden base measuring approximately 6 inches wide and 7 inches tall. The underside is hand-inscribed “Los Tres Reyes,” followed by what appears to be the artist’s name, possibly Ernesto Rivera, and “Puerto Rico.” This traditional form of Puerto Rican religious folk art is known as santos de palo, with the Three Kings being an especially important symbol of Puerto Rican culture and Epiphany celebrations. Vintage condition with age-related surface wear, natural wood variations, rough carving marks, and loose or fraying string reins; please review photographs. A wonderfully soulful, one-of-a-kind piece for a collection of Puerto Rican art, Latin American folk art, religious carvings, or Three Kings décor.
