Features visible on yours include the original brass oil reservoir, Full Inch wick burner, four glass panels, protective brass wire guards, hinged top, perforated ventilation chimney and folding carrying/hanging handle. The overall aged brass patina is attractive and I would not polish it.
I would look closely around the top, underside, oil reservoir and wick-adjustment mechanism for:
“SHERWOODS LTD,” “B’HAM,” “BIRMINGHAM,” “MADE IN ENGLAND,” or “BRITISH MAKE.” The documented Sherwoods example has those markings in addition to “Full Inch.”
