Antique Manhattan Optical Co. Brass Darkroom Lantern, Circa 1900

Antique photographic darkroom lantern marked “Manhattan Lamp, Manf’d by Manhattan Optical Co., N.Y.” This compact brass lantern features a folding wire carrying handle, pierced ventilation openings, a cylindrical chimney, and a hinged front cover bearing the maker’s decorative lettering.

An interesting early photography collectible with aged patina, surface spotting, oxidation, and wear. The upper chimney shows bending and irregular edges. Interior glass and burner completeness have not been verified. Untested and offered as a decorative collectible.
