Antique Charles Meigh “Hong Kong” flow blue transferware platter, made in Staffordshire, England, circa 1840s. This early Victorian platter features a richly detailed Asian-inspired landscape with pavilions, trees, water, and a bold floral border in deep cobalt blue.

The underside is marked “HONG KONG”, which is the pattern name, and also has a faint impressed pottery mark consistent with Charles Meigh’s Improved Stone China wares.

Measurements: Approximately 12-1/4” long x 9-1/2” wide.

Condition: Antique condition with noticeable age-related crazing throughout. There is discoloration and staining on the underside, including darker crazing/staining in several areas, along with expected surface wear from age and use. There are also minor imperfections and wear around the base and edges consistent with a piece of this age. I do not see an obvious major crack, large chip, or repair in the photographs, but please review all photos closely as they are part of the condition description.

A beautiful early blue-and-white Staffordshire platter and a strong display piece for collectors of flow blue, transferware, ironstone, or Victorian ceramics.
