Charming vintage miniature carved stone cat figurine, measuring approximately 1½ inches tall and about 1¼ inches wide. The little seated cat is carved from a naturally mottled tan/brown stone with a polished finish and features wonderfully expressive hand-painted blue-green eyes, a tiny painted nose, whisker details, and carved paws. The natural variations and speckling in the stone give each side a slightly different appearance. It weighs only about 0.045 lb (0.7 oz). I believe this is likely a soapstone or similar soft-stone carving, although the exact stone and maker are unknown/unmarked.
