A romantic statement piece from the golden age of decorative clockmakingWhite & Gold Applied Roses | Louis XVI Revival | 8-Day Strike | c.1880–1910— this French-style porcelain mantel clock is dressed in ivory white glaze with lavish gold-highlighted applied roses and lush foliage cascading over its oval case. The Louis XVI Revival styling speaks in every detail: beaded borders, acanthus leaf motifs, lion head and paw feet, and a beautifully detailed porcelain dial with individual numeral cartouches and elegant spade hands.
Two winding arbors confirm an 8-day time-and-strike movement; the brass bell is visible and intact through the base. The porcelain shows the graceful crazing of age, and the gilt has the warm patina of a well-loved antique. A genuinely lovely mantel presence for a collected interior, bridal suite, or romantic Victorian display.
CONDITION: This is an old piece and the glass face is missing. For decoration and possible repair.
• Gilt showing wear, especially on the applied roses
• Back panel covering is deteriorated (cosmetic only)
• Movement appears present and intact — would need a clockmaker to assess running condition
• Some crazing on the porcelain dial (expected and acceptable for age)
• Minor chips or losses possible on the applied floral elements
