Beautiful vintage hand-painted bone pen box, also known as a qalamdan, in the traditional elongated form used for scribes’ pens and ink. Features finely detailed court scene paintings along the lid depicting musicians and courtly figures in traditional dress, with a floral vine motif wrapping the sides. Interior is a lacquered black wood tray with hand-painted floral accents, sized to hold pens/writing implements.
