A wonderfully authentic antique American stoneware crock bearing the impressed mark of Lewis & Conger, New York, Made in U.S.A. — a celebrated Manhattan housewares retailer active from the mid-1800s through the mid-20th century. Circa 1900–1940.
The unglazed buff clay exterior features incised banding at the rim and shoulder, small tab lug handles, and a rich dark manganese-brown interior glaze. Classic utilitarian farmhouse pottery, made for storing lard, pickles, preserves, and pantry staples.
Beautiful aged patina throughout. A named, provenance-marked piece — ideal for primitive, farmhouse, or Americana collectors, or as a planter or kitchen accent.
Condition: Antique — please see all photos for wear consistent with age and use. No lid.
