Charming rustic wooden birdhouse designed to resemble a little country church or chapel, complete with a tall steeple, distressed ivory/cream painted finish, and an intentionally aged corrugated metal roof with a naturally rusted patina. The front has a round bird opening and simple architectural trim, while a wire loop at the top allows it to be hung if desired.
The construction and finish have a primitive farmhouse/folk-art look. I do not see a maker’s mark in the photos, so I would not attribute it to a specific company or call it antique without further evidence. It may be handmade or a later decorative piece made in a vintage style.
Approximate measurements: 15” tall × about 7” wide.
Weight: 2 lb 6.5 oz (2.415 lb).
Condition: Good rustic condition with intentional distressing throughout. The metal roof has substantial oxidation/rust and some waviness/curling along the edges, which contributes to the primitive appearance. Painted wood shows scattered scuffs, marks, edge wear and discoloration. Please review photos closely, as the aged surface is an important part of the piece’s character.
