Charming mid-century St. Johns West Indian Lime Talc container featuring a gold-tone metal body wrapped in its original handwoven natural fiber/wicker covering. The front retains the distinctive green and gold St. Johns West Indian Lime Talc emblem, while the reverse label reads “Imported St. Johns Lime Talc,” packed by the West Indies Bay Company of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
The round metal shaker top has its original perforations and hinged closure. A wonderful piece of vintage men’s grooming, barbershop, advertising, Caribbean travel, or vanity memorabilia.
Approximate measurements:
About 5 inches tall and approximately 4½–5 inches wide based on your ruler photographs.
Condition: Good vintage display condition with age-related wear, including tarnishing/discoloration and scattered finish loss to the gold-tone metal. The woven covering shows some age and irregularity but remains quite attractive. Labels remain readable. I would describe it as having excellent authentic vintage character rather than trying to clean or polish it heavily.
