Antique oak splint harvest basket, American, late 19th to early 20th century. Measuring approximately 14 inches long by 9½ inches wide, this rectangular basket features wide grain-split oak splints woven in an open pattern with a solid checkerboard base. Wrapped rim is secured with original cut nails, and the arched swing handle is nailed directly through the rim. Rich dark patina throughout with honest age wear. A wonderful display piece for farmhouse, colonial, or country interiors.
