Charming antique wooden glove box featuring detailed pyrography, also known as pokerwork or wood burning. The hinged lid is decorated with oak leaves and acorns surrounding the word “Gloves” in Gothic-style lettering. A hand-burned faux wood-grain pattern continues around the sides.
Likely dating from the early 1900s, this long, narrow dresser box was originally intended to hold ladies’ gloves. It would also make an attractive jewelry, keepsake, sewing, or decorative storage box.
Measures approximately 10¼ inches long by 3½ inches wide. Please see photographs for the complete measurements.
Antique condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, darkening, and some warping and separation along the edges of the lid. The interior is unlined. No maker’s mark was found. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
