Wonderful antique English picnic tea kettle by G.W. Scott & Sons (G.W.S. & S.), dating to approximately the early 1900s.

Designed for the elegant motoring and sporting picnic sets of the Edwardian era, this compact metal kettle features a squared body with rounded corners, hinged capped pouring spout, removable screw-top lid, and a beautifully woven wicker-wrapped carrying handle.

The lid is stamped “REMOVE SCREWS BEFORE LIGHTING – G.W.S. & S.” The kettle also retains its removable cylindrical perforated tea infuser/strainer, an especially nice accessory to find with these early picnic kettles.

G.W. Scott & Sons of London were renowned makers of wicker picnic hampers and traveling sets and supplied elaborate picnic equipment to prominent London retailers.

Condition: Very good antique condition with age-appropriate surface scratches, tarnish, oxidation and signs of use. Wicker handle remains attractive with expected age wear. Infuser is present. Please review photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
