A rare and wonderful pair of vintage ScotTowels paper towel rolls in their original printed wrappers — a true time capsule from the American kitchen of the 1930s. Produced by the Scott Paper Company of Philadelphia, these No. 12 rolls each contained 150 towels measuring 11¾” wide, and both remain unrolled in their original condition.
The striking cobalt blue wrappers feature the beloved “Thirsty Fibre” running figure motif repeated across the entire surface, along with charming illustrated panels depicting period home uses — draining fried foods, tackling men’s dirty jobs, and cleaning up after children. The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval appears on the front, and copyright dating confirms production c. 1933–1945.
Finding a single roll with an intact wrapper is uncommon. A matched pair in this condition is exceptional. A genuine piece of American advertising art and domestic history — display-worthy as-is.
Condition: Good to Very Good. Wrappers show expected age toning and handling wear; graphics remain bold and highly legible. Both rolls intact.
