Vintage Pineoleum medicinal bottle manufactured by The Pineoleum Company, New York City, U.S.A. Clear molded glass bottle with vertically embossed “PINEOLEUM” lettering, original paper label, and original metal screw cap.

The label advertises Pineoleum as a combination of menthol, camphor, oils of cassia, eucalyptus, pine needles, and refined petrolatum, intended as a spray and inhalant for the nose and throat and recommended for head colds and throat irritation. The label also references use with a Pineoleum Nebulizer.

Bottle retains a substantial amount of its original amber-colored contents, which adds considerably to its display appeal as an early pharmacy, apothecary, medical, or advertising collectible.

Approximately 5 inches tall and about 1½ inches wide. Weight shown is approximately 6.1 oz.

Condition is very good for age. Original label remains unusually complete and readable with expected age toning, staining, and minor edge wear. Metal cap shows oxidation/patina. Bottle has age-related residue and contents remain inside. No obvious chips or cracks visible in the photographs. Contents are sold strictly as a collectible and are not intended for use or consumption.

Dating: I would tentatively place this around the 1920s–1940s, with the label style and medicinal advertising making a pre-1950 date quite plausible.
